Uncontrolled early morning blood pressure in medicated patients: the ACAMPA study

BACKGROUND A blood pressure surge during the early morning may help to precipitate cardiovascular events. The objective of this study was thus to assess the blood pressure behaviour profile of early morning blood pressure in patients receiving antihypertensive treatment. DESIGN The ACAMPA study is a multi-center, open, prospective, observational study that was carried out by 24 investigators in Spain. The comparative case-study analysis presented in this article aims to identify the critical factors for adopting and implementing relevant performance management systems in regional governments. The evidence emerging from this casestudy analysis finds that certain variables are essential to advancing our progress in performance management including the role of legislation the need for leadership and the characteristics of performance indicators. The hope of this research is to encourage regional administrators to embrace leadership roles in interpreting and applying legal frameworks for realizing the benefits of performance management.

Survey on awareness and preference of ceramic bracket debonding techniques among orthodontists

Background The objectives of this study was to evaluate the awareness of different ceramic bracket debonding techniques among orthodontists in the USA and the most commonly used debonding technique for ceramic bracket removal. Material and methods A survey on preference for debonding and awareness of debonding techniques was emailed to 2,227 members of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). Results 119 orthodontists completed the survey. 111 responses were included in the study analysis of ceramic bracket users.
